This traditional flint two storey extension sought to rationalise the already twice extended original Suffolk tithe barn into two distinct styles.
Tassie and Kevin wished to use our expertise of compact living, to best plan a new self contained Airbnb wing on the compact footprint of an existing lean to extension. It seemed clear to take this opportunity to rationalise the extended building into two distinct material palettes/styles; the barn and the recent existing modern timber extension.
Traditional napped flint, render and pan tile roof seek to unify the proposed extension with the origional barn. A new easterly window echoes the original (infilled) opening of the barn, to provide long views over the surrounding fields.
