Deep refurbishment and attic conversion to a characterful 1930’s bungalow.
Alison was looking to downsize to a more cosy, manageable home that still afforded enough space for the family to come and stay.
An attic conversion was proposed to create a private master bedroom with walk in wardrobe, basin/dressing table and independant wc/shower. The ground floor layout was replanned to include a useful side access to a utility room and kitchen relocated to enjoy views out to the rear garden.
The thermal performance has been greatly improved by insulating the suspended floor, installing new high performance windows and insulating the newly converted attic. Airtightness improvements are being conducted to such a level (5ac/hr) that a MVHR is being installed to further improving thermal comfort and air quality.
